Aura River on a sunny autumn day. In the photo above, you can spot the tower of Turku Cathedral. The bridge is called Tuomiokirkkosilta, Cathedral Bridge.

Light and Shadow on a Sunny November's Day (3 Photos)

On a bright, sunny day in November, trees were casting beautiful mural-like shadows on nearby buildings. The yellow building in the photo below was the first one to get some shadow art on its wall. Light, shadow, and Turku skyline.  These pictures are taken in a building on Rauhankatu street. Thanks to the excellent weather, the view from a 9th floor balcony was amazing, and I was able to snap detailed photos of the Turku skyline as well. Trees creating mural-like shadows on nearby buildings.  As the sun was still rising, the shadows were changing rapidly and the yellow building's boring neighbor got a beautiful "mural" as well.  Closer view of the yellow building (Mikonlinna) on Rauhankatu.  Nature is an artist. It's amazing how trees and sunlight can transform an ordinary urban environment into a piece of art. I was lucky to be there when it happened. :)

The Lights of Mill Bridge - Turku, Finland (5 Photos)

Myllysilta (Mill Bridge) is one of the many bridges crossing Aurajoki (Aura river) in the city of Turku, Southwest Finland. The bridge was built in 2011. The Lights of Myllysilta - Turku, Finland "Mylly" means "mill" in Finnish. The bridge is named after an old mill, Samppalinna Mill, built in 1860. You can spot the mill in the photo below, in the upper right corner. Mill Bridge and Samppalinna Mill in winter. Myllysilta is especially beautiful at night. The interplay of lights and water and their reflections on the bridge create an ever-changing display of light art.
